Weekend in Review

It is a rare rare treat when I do not have my weekend fully booked up by the time Friday rolls around and despite having a few things on the calendar, I was lucky to have a somewhat "free" weekend this past weekend.  Give me a little down time and willing friends and I changed that in a hurry :)

Friday night, Kathryn, CJ and myself went to dinner at my favorite Greek place in richmond, Basilis!  Then headed to the 7:15 showing of Identity Thief at the Byrd theater.  It was a funny movie and even better that it was only $2!!!

After the movie, Kathryn came back to my house and we had a slumber party.  Saturday morning I was up early and got a lot of stuff done around the house, all before 10am, when Lila and CJ showed up to join us for craft day to make t-shirts for the Monument Avenue 10k cheering team!  We got bright pink neon shirts and ironned on transfers, no doubt I will get a picture of the group of us this coming Saturday!

Kathryn and I also made mini-donuts for craft day with my donut maker:

Afterward, I headed home to play with the doggies right quick and change for a bridal shower I had to get to in the West End at 3pm.  After the bridal shower, a few of us decided the night could not end there, so myself, Kathryn, CJ, and Elaine all came over to my mom's house for some Wii Karoake fun and some burgers on the grill.  It was a fun night in!

On Sunday, it was off to church and then Lila, CJ, and I went shopping for CJ's upcoming Glee 30th birthday party and afterward headed to "Which-wich" to pick up some lunch to take to Byrd Park, where we had a WINDY picnic lunch!

Fountain Lake at Byrd park!

Byrd Park!

Sunday night lead to youth group and then home with a massive headache so I was in bed by 9:45 Sunday night, but Monday morning the headache was gone and the week was about to start!  Hope you all enjoyed a fun and productive weekend too!  But most especially, enjoyed the beautiful weather!

2 weeks, 14 days, 336 hours, 20,160 minutes, 1,209,600 seconds....

Totally knocking off CJ's blog today about our upcoming trip because it is about time to interrupt the cute pictures and nephew talk to focus on my next adventure...our Mid-west trip!

In exactly two weeks from this morning actually (so probably less seconds, minutes, and hours) we will be arriving in Kansas City to embark on our 10 day, 11 state adventure.  Yup you heard right, we will be road-tripping through 11 states in just 10 days.  Interested to know how that will happen?  Well lots of driving plus the fact that there is not that much on the agenda for the mid-west trip.  Why is that?  Mainly cause there is not much we really want to do in the mid-west, save for the big things like Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower, the Badlands, the Mall of America, and a whole list of things in Chicago, we do not have much on the agenda.  We have said multiple times that we did not want to over-plan this trip and wanted to have the freedom to go off-course and look at the world's biggest ball of yarn, or whatever else fun and exciting the mid-west throws our way!

We have a tentative plan that we are hoping to follow but have not even booked hotels or decided which cities we will be in on which days (with the exception of Chicago, mainly cause we are staying with CJ's friend, Courtney), so we are really sticking with this not planning much!

This is our tentative (almost certain) route, without, of course those crazy side-trips!

So sit back, relax, and enjoy our adventure in just two weeks!  I know I will!

A boy and his bunny, plus a little surprise!

There once was a boy named Corbin, he had a family of bunnies--a mommy, a daddy, and a baby bunny.  The baby bunny was his favorite.  He loved the bunny and the bunny loved him, they exchanged bunny kisses and played in the grass.

Oh wait....this is my blog, not story time with Corbin!  Let's cut to the chase, or as we all like to call it, cute picture time!

Bunny kisses!

More bunny kisses

Human Kisses for a bunny---notice the difference!

Pop and Corbin

This boy loves his trucks too!

And now for the surprise!  Most of you already know this, but that cute little boy is going to be a BIG brother and here is the proof!  I finally got a babies bump picture!  YUP babies is right, there is two little ones growing in there!  My sister hates that I make her pose for pictures of the baby bump, but I just love it!
Me and Tiffie

Ummm yup, I am touching the belly and yup she is trying to take my hand off!
I am getting excited to meet my TWO new nieces of nephews in August!!!!

Half Priced Easter Egg Hunt

So my sister and her husband did not get Corbin an Easter basket, I know I know I was shocked too!  But alas Easter is not really about the Giant Easter Bunny or Chocolate bunnies, it is about the death and resurrection of Jesus.  But because I am Corbin's aunt and I love to make a big deal about any holiday, I headed to Target first thing Monday morning for half priced Easter goodies to stage an Easter egg hunt for this boy.  Turns out, Easter stuff is only 33% off the day after Easter, but a sale is a sale and we were set.  So when he went to bed Monday night, I set to work stuffing Easter eggs and Tuesday morning before work we had a fun Easter egg hunt.  Corbin knew to open the eggs and got overly excited about the chocolate his Auntie LaLa put in some of those eggs!  What a Cutie!!!
Getting ready to go find some Easter Eggs!

I wish this would have come out better, but he was really cheesin here!

He could not wait until the end to open the eggs!

Looks like this one had Chocolate in it!

Chocolate or Tattoo, which is it?

The Aftermath, notice all the temporary tattoos are left but there is no chocolate left....smart boy!

A little day trip to the Cemetery

On Saturday, CJ, Kathryn and I decided to go to Hollywood Cemetery for a picnic lunch!

What you do not do picnics in cemeteries?  Weird!

It was a beautiful day and we walked through a lot of the cemetery trying to figure out lineage and history behind every tombstone.  It is crazy to see some so old that the lettering has been nearly rubbed off, it is pretty incredible the history in this little cemetery.

The cemetery sits on top a hill overlooking the James River!

What a beautiful day!

Speaking of History, we stumbled (on purpose of course) across two former president's graves.
James Monroe's grave

John Tyler's grave

I am so glad spring has FINALLY decided to arrive!

Lunch with babies makes any day better!

On Friday I had the day off and my friend Sarah just happened to be in town, so we grabbed lunch and I got to meet her newest little addition, Kyle!  What a cutie pie!  I love babies!  They make even the best days (days off work) even better!

Kyle thinking "What is going on here"

The Fair is coming to....

The Mall???

I drove by the mall right near my office, Chesterfield Town Center.  And this was setting up in the parking lot....something seems oddly awesome about this!  Especially with my new found appreciation for Ferris' wheel!!!
