Life Update

My blog has been relatively quiet for the better part of this month (and that is good cause I hate it when it speaks out of turn--hehe!), so I thought I would update you all on life's happenings!

Well my travels have started to dwindle which is good because I was gone way more weekends than I was home in January/February, so it is nice to go into March with only 2 weekends of travel on the calendar (so far, anyway).  My mom and I went down to Norfolk to help celebrate Tiffany's birthday with her.  I baked her a vegan Chocolate, Peanut Butter cake.  Which she loved and the rest of us tolerated (because honestly when you are used to regular chocolate cake, nothing can beat that).  While there, her and Josh were able to get away for a birthday celebratory lunch while we watched the kiddies!

Holden man getting big!

Corbin is currently obsessed with airplanes!

Bonnie will kill me for posting this picture so we just wont tell her and we will love on the cute little Garrett man!

The weekend was (as always) too short, as I was starting to get sick and also had to be back for church on Sunday, so we left after bedtime on Saturday night.  Then the following 5 or so days were all about me resting as I was fighting a sinus infection (yet again). But I seem to be coming out of it and even had friends over last night for dinner and a game night:

So that pretty much brings us to present, with the month of March just hours away now and the thought of a short vacation on the horizon! Guess you will have to check back to see what adventure I have in store next...

Feeling the love....

Well Valentine's day has come and gone and I am one lucky girl, look at some of the love I got (in the form of gifts--which is one of my top love languages ironically enough).

Chocolate & things for my hair---YUP, Ms. Erica knows me well!

My mentor actually wrapped this in bubble wrap and mailed it just like that in the mail---sooo cute and by far the craziest wrapped thing I have ever gotten in the mail!

I came home to find these in my room from Ms. CJ!  She knows me well--my love for pink & flowers!  NAILED IT!

And how funny is this card from Erica?

So as to how I actually spent my Valentine's day?  Well I chaperoned a youth retreat, complete with 4 filled 15 passenger vans---let me tell you...that was a fun 2 hour car ride!

And just a few days before, I went down to Norfolk unexpectedly and was able to get a little love from these guys on Valentine's day morning!

"Hello!  We are cute!"

And not to be outdone, whilst driving around in Richmond city, we came upon this house all decked out for the holiday!  I might just need to become friends with them....

Crafts happening somwhere over the rainbow

Last Saturday, it finally happened!  Our long awaited craft day became a reality.  A few of my friends and I have a craft project group board on pinterest with the idea that we will get together to craft.  Only problem is that over the last year or so that has only happened one other time (obviously we need to get better at that).  But last weekend it happened and we have cute wreaths to show for it!

Kathryn and I made burlap wreaths while CJ made brownies (she apparently is not in want for a burlap wreath).  And we did all this while watching the VHS tape of the Wizard of Oz.
The completed project just added to my already fun weekend seeing Folk Soul Revival and trying out a new cidery in town!  So what did you spend your weekend doing?  Any new craft projects complete?

Completed project!

The wreaths made a little bit of a mess
